Champ Mitchell, Chairman and CEO Honored for Overall Leadership of Network Solutions
and Commitment to Superior Customer Service

BUSINESSWIRE — Network Solutions, a leading provider of online solutions and domain registration for small businesses, is pleased to announce that W.G. Champion Mitchell, Chairman and CEO, was awarded the 2006 American Business Award for the Best Turnaround Executive during a ceremony last night in New York City.

After joining Network Solutions in 2001, Champ Mitchell drew upon his previous experience of turning around four companies. Mitchell understood that you could not fix bad attitudes and lack of focus, so he chose to rebuild the senior leadership team and create a customer centric organization. “Turning around a cash hemorrhaging, failing former monopoly is easy”, said Mitchell. “You just admit what you don’t know and go out and hire one of the best young executive team that the industry has ever seen.”

In 2005, Champ Mitchell set to focus the company around one clear vision—which had not existed at Network Solutions—to be the recognized leader in helping small business customers use the Internet to build and grow their businesses by providing services like Web hosting, ecommerce and search engine marketing services.
